No pictures this time, but it was a great time. Really. In fact, we were there pretty late, and as if you couldn’t tell, this is a back-post from a time at which there was no computer access.
It was fun being able to actually swim at the beach, and one salty fellow gave us a heads-up about not letting the authorities find us with glass bottles on the beach (promptly went and got some red Solo cups, and it felt even more like a party). Afterward, and after an early dinner, we all sat around and I basked in the warm glow of a Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Monarca Maduro. These things … man, I think it deserves its own post.
On the way back, we listened to Ministry Of Sound’s Summer Annual 2001, Disc 1. This to me is still among the most shining examples of powerful, beautiful, innovative trance without the sickly-sweet (or sickly-sexual) lyrics present in most trance songs.
But it’s strikingly out of date. Anyone else have some good trance selections they’d like to share?
