I’m not paying for cable, as I don’t really watch TV, but I’m still curious about this. Also curious about the legality. I’ll report back about whether this has worked for me, just as soon as I get some more philosophy read….

The MPAA states that downloading television shows is illegal under Federal law except from authorized sources like through the iTunes store. The MPAA is currently going after people for downloading TV shows through illicit sources, so I’d beware.
Indeed. Unfortunately, The Democracy Player only works with Windows and Mac so far, so I’m saved by my unwillingness to spend the time trying to dink with and compile the thing for Linux.
