Wikipedia List of Algorithms. Your comp sci homework just got that much easier.

CoComment. Touted as the next big thing in blogging. Could be, but lots of (most) sites still aren’t working with it.

Free LimeWire PRO. Seems to be legit! This could save you $18.88 if you’re into it.

Linux manual pages (manpages) online, A-Z. Teach yourself Linux commands one at a time!

  1.  Jeff Says:

I don’t know that I’d be recommending LimeWire, man. It’s still illegal trading of copyrighted material, whether or not you pay LimeWire for it.

  2.  Michael Says:

Yeah, could be. Ah, well, there are legal uses for it, too, just like BitTorrent, so I’ll leave it up to the public to actually decide if (1) they actually are “into it,” and (2) to be contacted by the RIAA at their own peril. :)

This is a good time for a disclaimer, though: I do not recommend any software for downloading anything illegally in any nation in which you may happen to reside.

Also, it should be noted that in the United States, it is legal under Federal law to acquire copyrighted material, e.g., a song or album or what-have-you, for a period not to exceed 24 hours, and to keep it for one’s private use and not to redistribute it. Of course, that puts up a sticky situation for all but the leechers of the illegal stuff.

I’ve only used BitTorrent for things lately, but I have used LimeWire and related programs to get less-than-perfect copies of albums I already own and have either lost, had stolen, or inadvertently destroyed. (For example, my brand new Autechre album, back when it was brand new. Man, that pissed me off.)

But yes, good call, don’t take this as an endorsement folks. :)
